SEG Challenge Bowl

Want an expenses-paid trip to the SEG Annual Meeting in San Antonio, USA, September 2011? Enter the fifth SEG Middle East Challenge Bowl!     
                           
Ten teams of two students from any university or college are invited to enter the fifth SEG Middle East Challenge Bowl at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, 12 April 2011.

The event will take place at the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and will be held in conjunction with the SEG/ExxonMobil Student Education Program and SPE/SEG Joint Applied Technology Workshop in Dubai.  This is a chance for geoscience students to display their geophysical knowledge in a fun, rapid-fire, push-the-buzzer, who-can-answer-first competition!
Teams will compete against pairs of students. The prize for the first-place team will be an expenses-paid trip to the SEG Annual Meeting in San Antonio (September 2011), where they will compete in the sixth SEG Challenge Bowl finals and have the chance to receive a cash prize. Participants also will have the opportunity to:
  • network with key industry professionals
  • receive complimentary admission to the SEG Annual Meeting and Technical Sessions
  • attend other student related activities and make other networking connections

The SEG Challenge Bowl is an international contest testing students' breadth and depth of knowledge about the field of geoscience. The quiz show format features intense competition as the contestants attempt to buzz in first with the answers to challenging geoscience questions. All geoscience students are encouraged to participate in this unique event which combines knowledge, competition, and fun.
