The 8th Annual SEG Middle East Challenge Bowl was
successfully organized in collaboration with Dhahran Geoscience Society (DGS)
on 28 April 2014 at Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman. DGS has been
leading the SEG Middle East Challenge Bowl since 2006. Fuad Somali, Saudi
Aramco and DGS Vice President, hosted the competition.
This year's challenge bowl competition featured 11 teams
from Middle East universities, as follows:
Egypt: ·Ain Shams University
KSA: ·King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM)
·King Abdulaziz University
·King Saud University
Kuwait: ·Kuwait
University
Pakistan: ·NED University
UAE: ·Petroleum
Institute Abu Dhabi (2 separate teams of female & male students)
·United Arab Emirates University
Muscat: ·Sultan
Qaboos University (2 separate teams of female & male students)

The student s from NED University, Sheikh Mubin Ashraf –
Final Year and Asiya Abbasi – Third year of Petroleum Engineering secured 2nd
place after a nail biting competition with the Sultan Qaboos University.
