Oil and Gas Competition and Exhibition (OGCE) 2014

SPE-UTP-SC is proud to present the Oil and Gas Competition and Exhibition (OGCE) 2014. The four-day event provides a much needed platform for students in petroleum engineering and geosciences departments to gather and compete in various competitions. With its theme, ‘Fuelling the Future of Energy Generation’, OGCE aims to mould the minds of future oil and gas employees towards an awareness for a more sustainable future.

   

Events of OGCE

1. Career Exhibition

• Career exhibitions by the sponsoring companies.
• Creates opportunity to the students to learn more about the company.
• OGCE 14 act as a recruitment platform for the oil & gas company where students from different
  background of studies will be attending the event.   

2. Technical Talks

• Contain the briefing and explanatory of any technology that developing in oil and gas companies.
• Sponsoring company will be given slot for technical talks in order to promote the company with
  respect to the outstanding technologies which are developing in the company or invented in the company

3. Intellectual Cup ( Registration is at below)

• Competition between SPE Student Chapter teams against each other in a fast paced quiz competition.
• Competing teams are challenged to answer both technical and non-technical questions associated
  with oil & gas industry.

4. Mud Innovation Challenge ( Registration is at below )

• Competition that requires experiment and presentation of participant’s mud to the judges.
• Best mud that is able to withstand temperature & pressure and presentation will be announced
  as the winner.

5. Student Paper Contest ( Registration is at below)

• For those who doing research and analysis on any case related to oil & gas industry. 
• Will be conducted in two division (Undergraduate and Postgraduate category)

6. Trip to Petronas Twin Towers

• An educational trip to the main office of PETRONAS operation system in Kuala Lumpur and 
  also to the SKY BRIDGE.

• To get an overview of how the daily operations of PETRONAS staffs, as well as view observing
  their work methods.

7. Gala Night Dinner

• A get-together session with all the participants to enhance the bond between student chapters
• To award students for their achievements throughout the course of OGCE’14

8. SPE Student Chapter Social Night

• A platform for all participants to socialize casually with one another.
• Consisting of cultural performances and activities, the participants will be able to portray the
  uniqueness of their country with each other.
